Lunches with Ladies

Two days in a row mommy and I had ladies' lunch dates:

We had a lot of laughs with Lauren, Kay, and Amy. I hope we can get together again very soon. While the occasion was celebratory, I'm very sad to learn that "Aunt" Lauren is moving to Singapore - I feel like I've only just met her, but boy am I going to miss her!!


After several scheduling attempts, I finally met "Aunt" Harriette. We got along very well and are already planning a second date!


Happy Birthday, Patrick! We weren't technically invited to their romantic celebratory dinner, but New York is such a small town with so few restaurants that we bumped into Marisa and Patrick anyway.


While my bassinet is perfectly lovely, after a busy day I'd still always prefer to fall asleep in my daddy's arms!

My Very Memorable Memorial Day

I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing long weekend in Mahopac with my family!

Mommy, daddy, Aunt Julie, Uncle Spencer, and my cousins played a lot of baseball...and mommy hit a grand slam homerun into the lake. Check out her pro batter's stance - the Yankees sure could use some offense like hers!


Charlotte and Aunt Julie are very good at holding me - I can tell that they both have a lot of practice with babies.


Grandma and Grandpa sure were busy with all seven grandchildren. Of course I'm no trouble...but the others are a handful.


My big cousins played Hungry, Hungry Hippos - it was a noisy game that sounded like a lot of fun. Fortunately Uncle Andy made sure everyone played fairly.


When I had trouble falling asleep, daddy let me listen to lullabyes on his iPod.


The weekend started at Izzy Kashper's 1st Birthday party. I slept through a lot of the festivities, but everyone seemed to be having a great time.

Week Seven and I'm in Heaven

I just can't believe how quickly these seven weeks have flown! I feel like it was just yesterday...

In honor of my birth and my parents' obsession with chocolate, "Aunt" Celena and "Uncle" Jamie bought us pink and white M&Ms with my names on them - how fun! Too bad I have to wait 45 more weeks until I can eat chocolate!!


I finally got to meet Alaine. She's going to have a new granddaughter any minute...and I can't wait to meet her!


I think when my mommy goes back to work in the fall, I've been offered a position at the College Board as well...or at least the onesie that Becky got me seems to indicate so.














My tummy is becoming more and more exciting every day. Mostly I just like to look around.


Mommy and I played a lot today. It was exhausting!

Happy Birthday, Daddy - I love you!

Today was daddy's birthday.
He celebrated the only way he knows how...with chocolate cake.

Fortunately, he had some friends with him so he didn't have to eat the whole thing by himself. Of course, I was asleep when the check arrived, so I didn't have to pay!

Last night, daddy fed me for the first time. It was an exhausting experience for us both.

Mommy is teaching me about all the important things in life. Here she shows me how to get a french pedicure...

...and here she shows me how to go out for coffee, pastries, and fruit with our new friends Audrey and William (an older man: born April 10 - just two days before me!).

Week Six: More Family in the Mix

This weekend was my naming. I am named for my great-grandma Helen, whose pendant I wore. I was SO good during the service!

I'm so excited that I finally got to meet Aunt Abigail, who came all the way from San Francisco. She drove straight from the airport late at night to see me.


My biggest cousin Charlotte came to New York for the first time since I was born. She is so much fun. In addition to all the other things we have in common, neither of us has any front teeth at the moment!


I also got to be shnuggled by Bobo (my great-grandma), while Charlotte held my finger.


I'm so happy that my Boston grandparents come to visit me so often!


Grandpa is very good at holding me!


I was lucky to meet Avery and Carson. Their grandmother Sue and my grandma have been friends for a VERY long time.


"Uncle" Stevie visited me from Los Angeles. I look forward to seeing him again at mommy and daddy's college reunion in June.

My First Trip to Boston

I am so proud of my grandma! She got a distinguished chair named for her and we went to Boston to attend the festivities. Here we are sitting in the chair (though I understand it's a bigger honor than just another place to put your tuchus).

The ceremony was very lovely and I got to wear my first name tag. My daddy also let me sit in grandma's chair by myself, but that wasn't as much fun.


I got to visit my daddy's office and see where he goes every day after kissing me goodbye. It was nice, but I like home better (and I miss him).


Mommy and I went to get our car inspected. My first trip to the service station and we passed with flying colors.


When we got back to NYC, "Aunt" Lauren came to meet me. We had a lot of fun.

Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!

Today was my mommy's first Mother's Day. Here I am giving her the best gift ever: a chance to nap. I like lounging in the bassinet!

Later, we celebrated with a picnic in Central Park with some other mothers we know.

Meanwhile, daddy and Oscar got to play some wiffle ball:

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, I'm one month old to-day-ay, happy birthday to me!!!

We celebrated with the usual (breastmilk and napping), oh and lunch at the Boat Basin Cafe and margaritas at dinner!

Week Five: LIANA LIVE!

I took a long walk down Fifth Avenue with Uncle Spencer on our way to a new hot spot...


...the soon-to-open Yushi Sushi at 245 Park Avenue (SW corner of 47th & Lexington). Right now it's under construction, but this June I plan to dine in and take out.


This is me at exactly 10:08 p.m. on my 4-week birthday. I'm enjoying my new Miracle Blanket, which many people recommended to my mommy and daddy since I'm such a squirmer that I can wiggle my way out of any swaddle you can imagine.

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

We've had a busy few days. Yesterday was my mommy's birthday. We celebrated with breast milk and pooping. Oh, and she had cake.


We also got to visit with Lynne and Rachel...I feel like I've known them forever.

And I met a new relative, cousins Wendy and Jack:

I can't wait for the birthdays that are coming up: I turn 1 month this weekend (I'm so old!) and daddy has a birthday in just 2 weeks (more cake!).

Week Four: Adventures Galore

Yesterday I got to meet many wonderful friends and relatives because of Great-Grandma Erna's funeral. Among them were Bobo and PopPop (my other great-grandparents) and Great-Uncle Herb and Great-Aunt Maggie, who came all the way from Baltimore. I hope I get to see them again soon under happier circumstances.

Speaking of happy occasions, I went to my first birthday party (Sorin turns two this week). The Elmo cake "Aunt" Catharine baked was really impressive, but I think daddy liked my party hat more than I did.


"Aunt" Anita knitted me the most beautiful hat. For her first chapeau, it was really impressive (and I look adorable in it, don't you think?).


I had a lot of fun with my Boston grandparents this weekend. We ate out for every meal, which is good because I have to try a bunch of places since my Zagat votes are due next week.


On Friday I visited my grandpa's office. I didn't get examined, but there was a lot of tickling and playing (much more fun than the pediatrician). "Aunt" Suzette really didn't want to have her picture taken, but she was very brave.


Mommy and I also met "Aunt" Catharine and Sorin for a walk (and ice cream) in the park. It was such a beautiful day.
