Alexander the Great (Playmate)

This afternoon we had a playdate with my classmate Alex. He has a fantastic tunnel of love through which we chased one another. It was SO much fun, but our mommies and daddies wouldn't allow us any time unchaperoned.

Alex's mommy read us lots of stories and it was fun to play with his toys - especially his giant giraffe.

Speaking of animals in the wild, yesterday Daisy, Oscar, and I had a playdate with several at the Museum of Natural History.

Thank You, But I Think I'll Pass-over

Well, twice through the Haggadah and I still think it's a long wait for dinner. I never turn down an opportunity to put on a party dress, but it might have been more fun to just play with my school bus.

By the second Seder, the highlights included trying on Oscar's yarmulke...

...and tearing up napkins on the floor under the table.

If you think the Exodus out of Egypt took a long time, you should hear about "Aunt" Lauren and "Uncle" Mo's flight to NYC from Singapore. I'm just glad that they made it! It was so much fun to go to the playground with them last weekend.

Growing Growing Grown....

Tonight I had my one-year physical. It came complete with two shots and blood tests. I did get a fabulous glittery band-aid, but it was not enough of a prize for all the poking and prodding.

I now weigh 21 pounds 11 ounces and am 30 inches long. Must be all that chocolate I've been eating.

When we got home from the doctor, mommy and daddy were amazed that I could walk the walk, after merely crawling the crawl this morning. Watch me go!

Six Thousand Reasons to Smile

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the six thousand visitors who have been to my blog in the past year. You check in on me from as far away as Tokyo and Singapore and as close as mommy and daddy's home computer. I hope you'll continue to keep tabs on in me in my second (even more adventurous) year because I'm typing faster and faster these days.

¡Bienvenido Barrio!

ChocohoLiana: A Chocolate Celebration of Me

Today my friends and family helped me celebrate turning one. Somehow I managed to keep my pink party dress clean despite an all-chocolate party.

I was mesmerized by the entertainment:

Marcia the Chocolate Mousse (she's actually a Musical Moose, but go figure).

I finally got to meet Mikaela who is already almost six months old.

I insisted that mommy and daddy make it a boy-girl party, particularly so that Kameron could come from Baltimore (before he and his family move to California this summer).

I see Alex all the time in school, but today was extra special and he looked SOOO handsome.

My cake was chocolate with Oreo frosting and flowers in the only color I would allow.

I was very lucky to have help from my cousins blowing out my two candles (one for good luck).

Daisy and I were chocolate-d out by the end of the party...

...but I was able to take some leftovers home to enjoy later.

Happy, Happy Birthday, Baby

My birthday started out like every day should, with a Double Chocolate Milano cookie (in this case, my first taste of chocolate).

Like any perfect day, I spent it with some of my extended family.

We went out for a walk around town...

...and checked out the cool collage capturing many images from my first year, courtesy of BoMa and BoPa. My, how I've grown!

Dress-up Rehearsal

In preparation for my big day, I went to my friend Benjamin's second birthday party. Can you believe he's twice as old as I am? Mommy, daddy, and I played in the ball pit. I lost my barrette, but I found my jumpshot.

Grandma, grandpa, and mommy joined me for a party at school today.

My first piñata was a bit frightening, perhaps because it got dumped on top of me.

Fortunately blowing out my first candle was not nearly as dangerous.

I practiced eating cake...

...before going back to the office to review the game tapes.

Sweet Six Teeth

As my birthday approaches, I want to celebrate all I've accomplished in my first year, including the six teeth which have arrived (five of which are featured here).

Daddy tried to capture all six, but I'm not so fond of the paparazzi!

Some-bunny loves me...

...in fact, lots of people do, especially mommy and daddy.

Seven Decades of Grandpa

Grandpa has a special birthday today. My cousins were in town to help him celebrate. We helped him blow out all three candles...is he three? That is SO old!

There was a super duper family dinner party in his honor on Saturday night, but after helping mommy and daddy write their toast, I didn't get invited. Some nerve!
