Play(-ground) Date

My San Francisco beau, Eli, and his parents "Uncle" Dave and "Aunt" Melissa drove all the way in to NYC to play with me today. What a fun way to finish off an exciting Thanksgiving weekend.


Like members of any good relationship, Eli and I have our ups and downs...


...but we quickly got into the swing of things:

You Can Lead a Liana to "Water"...

Today we went to the Museum of Natural History with BoMa and BoPa. I slept through the entire visit, including the Water exhibit, but learned a lot by osmosis. (Ha Ha!) After my mastery of the sippy cup, I didn't know there was so much more to know. (Fast fact: The Tonle Sap in Cambodia flows upstream during monsoon season.)


We then consumed New York City water (featured as top notch in the exhibit) at lunch with all my grandparents. I was the center of attention, as usual, though my teething ring was the center of my attention (filled, of course, with cold water).


This video clip has nothing to do with water, but I've been looking for an excuse to post it. It features two of my new talents, pulling up and saying "dada." I am hopeful that my speaking will soon catch up with my blogging.

(Not-so-) Cold Turkey Day

My very first Thanksgiving and from where better to watch the Macy's Parade than daddy's shoulders and mommy's arms? What a view of all of the clowns and balloons going by.


Speaking of balloons, the parade sure was full of hot air, my company excluded, of course.


Another highlight of Thanksgiving was spending it with all three of my oh-so-great-grandparents. They've eaten a lot of turkeys in their day, but celebrated with me as if it were their first.


I have so much to be thankful for: my family, my friends, and you, my fans. Happy Thanksgiving!

I Scream 'No Cake'

My friend Rachel is so old...(How old is she? you might ask...) She's so old that she counts her age in years, not months. Today I celebrated her first birthday at a fabulous party.


Her party included musical fun and games (and cake, though you had to be at least Rachel's age to partake).


This weekend, mommy, daddy and I also took "Uncle" Josh to see Canstruction.


The last time I saw him was in Boston for the ScooperBowl, so it was only appropriate that there be an ice cream theme to this event as well. Harumph! Another food I have to wait to eat....


Speaking of cold things, winter has finally arrived so it was time to get a proper hat. This one should keep my ears toasty. Bring on the ice cream!

Venture Capitol

We spent the weekend sightseeing in Washington, DC. The District is a lot of fun, but I'm not sure why they have a replica of the Bunker Hill Monument.


We took the Metro, but why did they made it so clean and quiet?? It's nothing like the subway I know and love.


We had jazz brunch with "Uncle" Rob and "Aunt" Mona who didn't miss a beat (of eggs or drums).


I got to see Dorothy's original ruby slippers at the Smithsonian, though they didn't sparkle as much as my pink tourmaline ones.

Very Merry-land

On our way to and from our nation's capital, we visited three cities in Maryland to be with family and friends.

Baltimore: We spent the afternoon playing with Bobo and PopPop. Hopefully on my next visit I'll be able to sample Bobo's chicken soup and chocolate cookies and not just her lap.


Why choose between a Kelly and a Birkin when you can have a Liana bag?


Timonium: I got to meet Kameron and Vince and see their parents, "Uncle" Shervin and "Aunt" Susan.


Kameron taught me nosey-nosey (both our daddies thought it was preferable to lippy-lippy).


Rockville: We visited cousins Amy, Jason, Zach, and Leah. Zach got some letters transposed and played 'mucis' on his guitar.


I'm all packed and ready for our next family vacation. Whom can we visit next??

Code In Dee Nose

I had my first real cold this weekend, but except for frequent breaks to catch my nose (it was running, of course) it didn't slow me down one bit. Well, I did do a little extra napping.


That's my new friend klapper bäver from Jamie and Celena. My Swedish isn't that good, but when I woke up, we all played together. Vad nöje!


We were having such a good time that a neighboring deer stopped by for a visit.


All in all, I managed to have fun, even with the sniffles. As you know, these days I'm very good at standing up to challenges.
