Sick Day

I called in sick to school today. I think mommy thought I just wanted a day at home with daddy, but daddy said he thought my clothes were going to catch on fire I was so hot. He let Chucky do the more objective measure.

Daddy said I could wear my jammies until noon and we could watch The Price is Right, but it's not the same since Bob Barker left, so I got dressed and got going.

Unfortunately, I went to the doctor and my fever is not gone, so tomorrow I am staying home with mommy. Who knew being sick could be so much fun!

"More" Weekend

BoMa and BoPa were in town, which always makes for an action-packed weekend. Daddy was working, but I told him I would take the pager if he wanted a break.

Then I got all dressed up in my party clothes to celebrate Naomi's 3rd birthday!

"Driver, please bring the car around."

That wasn't action enough, though: I always want more.

(I don't know why my parents are teaching me sign language: I think I express myself well enough, don't you?)

Step It Up a Notch

Daddy was worried that because we have no steps in our apartment, I might never learn to conquer them, but he clearly has nothing to be concerned about (though I've heard that getting down is quite another matter).

Short in the Tooth

I finally let mommy and daddy photograph my two newly arrived teeth:

They helped me weigh in at 19 pounds 4.5 ounces at my nine-month doctor's appointment. I am also 28 inches long. Soon they're going to need a bigger examining table.

Here's my growth trajectory...

To The Nines...

Today I turned nine months old. My big celebration was eating egg yolks (one of the ingredients, I understand, in cake, though many would argue not the yummiest). I am making all sorts of noises...

...and trying to walk (with assistance).

I'm unstoppable!

L(ian)A Story

I just flew back from Orange County, and boy are my arms (and the rest of me) tired!

We went for mommy's business trip, which was fortunate since I got to see some of my favorite of her colleagues, including Hal and Dorothy (whose birthday is TODAY).

While mommy was working, daddy and I headed out on the "town." We got ice cream floats at Dana Point Harbor and watched the boats.

Mommy joined us and we went to Laguna Beach to play on the swings.

Here's a video of my first time ever in the Pacific Ocean.

That day ended beautifully...

...and now it's back to the real world.

I brought back a souvenir (two of them actually): a pair of front bottom teeth(!), but I'm not ready for anyone to photograph them quite yet.

Auld Liana Syne

My first New Year's Eve started with my first boy-girl party (two older men and me!).

We then moved on to Grandma and Grandpa's to watch the ball drop. I woke up just in time to catch Uncle Spencer and Aunt Julie's smooch.

Today we celebrated new year's day with an 80's themed pajama brunch.
