Prospero Año Nuevo

Ay, Ay, Ay, Ay: For New Year's Eve, BoMa, BoPa, mommy, daddy, and I went to dinner and a show...by a mariachi band.

They sang my favorite song (since my infancy and my stroller mobile). Here's a taste:

Daddy said I'll always be his Liana-lita Linda!

Look Ma, No Hands!

But two feet in your boots...I'm so well-heeled, don't you think?

Speaking of back parts of me, we had to crop my tush from this photo of my first solo shower (at BoMa and BoPa's) out of respect for my younger audience.

Happy End of Chanukah

Now that it's the eighth night, I've finally figured out that I need to be really careful around those candles, though those menorahs can still be a lot of fun.

I can't wait until next Chanukah - just 354 nights to go!

Eight Friends (and Relatives) of Chanukah

We had one night of plans, but somehow they're lasting eight nights.

1. On the day before Chanukah, brunch with cousin Brielle (who is no longer a "baby")...

2. On the night before Chanukah, dinner with Ari...

3. On the day Chanukah started, Raffaella's second birthday celebration...

4. On the second night of Chanukah, dinner with Marco, "Aunt" Susan, "Uncle" Shervin, Kameron and Vincenzo...

5. On the fourth night of Chanukah, a celebration with Benjamin...

6 and 7. On the sixth day of Chanukah, lunch with Katherine, Sophia, and Pooh Bear (Happy Birthday "Uncle" Rob!)

8. On the last night of Chanukah, a trip to see Eli who is visiting from the other side of the country (adjusting to those time zones got us turned upside-down).

Anyone else feel tired (and want to suck a thumb and twirl some hair) from all that celebrating??

Wow - I need a nap!

Oh What Fun It Is To Sing. . .

...on someone else's holiday! I'm quite the caroler, going door-to-door.

I also want to send special love to my new friend halfway across the world who was born today in Singapore...Samara Ilse. I can't wait to meet you since I know your parents are extraordinary!

Can't Hold a Candle to Me

Tonight we had a Chanukah party with Mema, Bampa, Uncle Spencer, Aunt Julie, Oscar, and Daisy.

Daddy helped me light my menorah.

The first present that was opened was a little something I made at school with "Miss Siss-tine" for mommy and daddy.

It is a "Liana Globe" featuring a picture of me as well as water, glitter, and lots of love.

Mommy and daddy are always telling Spencer and Julie that they are worried about my lack of rhythm and pitch since I have no genetic basis on which to be able to sing. In response, Aunt Julie and Uncle Spencer bought me a piano with a microphone on which I can tame my wild vocal cords.

After patiently not touching the stove while mommy made latkes, I was thrilled to get my very own kitchen (complete with frying pans) from Mema and Bampa. I can't wait to make them a delicious (albeit pretend) dinner soon.

Swimming off into the Sunset

Today was my last swimming class...

Daddy and I sure had fun, though I still need a little help from Coach Mike to scoop effectively.

Guess it's back to wearing pants...

Dinner is Served

I love mommy's cooking, but my favorite thing to make for dinner is reservations. And when the doorbell rings, I yell "dinner time." Tonight, dinner's on me (well, behind me)...

Flower Girl Who's All the Buzz

I absolutely LOVE flowers, and my flower towel is a particular hit. Daddy thinks it's funny, but I like it for another reason:

It prominently features a...well, nevermind, I don't want to spoil the surprise...

How Thankful? So-o-o Thankful

This year was my second Thanksgiving and I have so much for which to be thankful. I have a wonderful family and so many people who love me so much. We spent all week in school preparing for the holiday. I even learned all about turkeys.

The night before the holiday, we got together with the cousins.

It was my kind of sushi place: check out the fish on my plate (you may need to double-click on the photo).

We started off Thanksgiving Day at the Macy's Parade...

...and then moved on to dinners with both sides of my family. My turkey knowledge helped cousin Josh to tie daddy in the trivia contest.

What a wonderful way to spend the holiday - Happy Thanksgiving!!

Busy as a Beaver

I have been a busy little beaver the last two weeks. Too busy even to keep my blog updated and to all my readers, my apologies!

Two weeks ago, mommy and daddy and I helped warm Josh's new beaver lodge. Daddy provided the hugs...

...while Josh provided the entertainment...

...and the dessert. Do beavers like walnut dream bars?

Meantime, Nora was an excellent swinging partner...

...and Astrid a lovely dinner companion.

We even visited Brooklyn and checked out Uncle Spencer's new restaurant.

What a dam (oh, come on) fine two weeks.

Thank You, But No Thank You

Tonight I visited the pediatrician for my 18-month visit. Mommy and daddy were excited for Dr. Y to hear all my words, but mostly all I said was "no thank you." "No thank you" stethescope, "no thank you" ophthalmoscope, "no thank you" otoscope, "no thank you" vaccines. You get the idea. I weighed in at 25 pounds 2 ounces and am 32 inches tall, thank you very much!

Vote Early (Not Often)

I could have sworn that mommy and daddy invited me boating, but apparently we got up extra early this morning to go voting.

Things seemed to roll our way. Despite a queue that went around the block, we were able to take my stroller up the handicap ramp and skip much of the line. (Guess I fulfilled my civic duty.) Interestingly, mommy reached into her bag for an animal cracker and pulled out a donkey. Based on the returns, I think a lot of Americans did the same thing.

You Can Run, But You Can't Hide

Today was Marathon Sunday so we took the subway to Brooklyn to see the "pee-puhl running."

I don't know how they have so much energy. I got tired just taking the 2 train.

They're running fast. They must know they're heading to Manhattan!

All Treats, No Tricks

Last weekend we got the Halloween spirit started at a party at the community garden. It was only appropriate that a fuh-fuh-fly got to play among the flowers. The highlight was decorating a pumpkin with stickers.

On Halloween I went to school as a pupa instead of a pupil. By midday I made my transformation - complete with sparkly shoes (which, I've been told, not all fuh-fuh-flies have).

At school we had a party, including a peacock, two dragons, a lion, and a kitty cat.

On our way home, I saw one of my relatives as window dressing - how sad that she couldn't come trick or treating with me...

We covered our entire elevator line and got mostly treats. My very first candy bar was full-size, not fun-size (thanks 14A!)

Trick-or-treating was easy compared with opening the packages...but well worth the trouble!

Baby, Oh Baby!!

I love hugging my babies almost as much as I love being cuddled by mommy and daddy.

They are quite a lap-full, but there's always room.

Three little girls - ready for bed. Good night!

My Name in Lights

Apparently, I'm an international sensation who represents style, good food, and speed. How did they know?

This photo is from New York (who's that little baby?):

This one is from Tokyo:

And from Australia:

We have three continents covered, but what about South America? Africa? Europe? Antarctica? Send me your Liana photos...
