I Hate to Eat and Swim

We met Michaela and her parents for lunch. She is cute as a button and I tried to steal her nose while I thought no one was looking.

My cousins love to swim in the lake...

...but I prefer to paint the dock.

Play That Funky Music White Boy

This morning I spent a lot of time dancing with my cousins. Dagmar showed me her Latin steps...

...while DJ Static Attic(us) scratched me a dance mix to highlight my best moves.

Match This!

After hearing about how much fun I had last year, "Aunt" Celena and "Uncle" Jamie took mommy, daddy and me to the US Open (my "deuce" visit, as it were).

More than tennis, I really enjoyed that mommy and daddy "let" me look at the begonias...

...and run on the bleachers (I was sure to not "make a racquet" to avoid disturbing the players' concentration??). I hoped mommy and daddy would follow me back-and-forth like they did Federer's serve.

I think that tennis ball is smaller than I remember.

"Aunt" Celena found me my very own official US Open ball, which I proceeded (through no "fault" of my own) to throw at a random fan in section 223 of Ashe Stadium (sorry guy in the plaid shirt!)

The ice cream is even more delicious than last year (according to daddy)!

This Horse Rocks But Doesn't Roll

I'm finally big enough to climb onto and off of my rocking horse. It's really fun to "rocky, rocky," though it doesn't seem like I'm getting anywhere.

I'm [a Mini Hole in] One!

I went to play mini golf with Bobo, PopPop, Aunt Julie, Uncle Spencer, "Ockie, Ockie," Daisy, mommy and daddy. I like to putter around, but since I prefer pinks to greens, I wasn't much of a competitor.

I was told I didn't properly address the ball, but perhaps my dress was in the way or I forgot that we moved and didn't change my address.

When we got home, while everyone played, I mowed the lawn (ahem, the asphalt).

Uncle Spencer and Daisy almost got attacked by killer swans who really just wanted a ride on the boat.

The Highs and Lows of the Playground

Daddy pushes me HIGH and LOW on the swings.

I climb HIGH up the slide...

...and 1, 2, 3 sliding LOW.

I got on the HIGH big girl swing and sang the ABC song with mommy. When we got to the end, I gave myself a round of applause, letting go of the chains and tumbling to the mulch beLOW. Oops!

Too Cool For School

This week I was on vacation and I managed to stay cool in the pool...

...the ocean...

...and the lake!

I wonder if I'll be recognized when I wear my shades back to my classroom on Monday.

Express Myself

This weekend in Newport, I broadened my vocabulary by learning a bunch of new expressions (ahem, clichés).

"Go fly a kite!"

"When life gives you lemons, make frozen lemonade."

"I call shotgun."

"She's a real swinger!"

"Catch a rising star[fish]"

"What goes around, comes around."

"Goodness, gracious, great balls of fire!"

"Life's a beach!"

Who's the Fairest of Them All?

BoMa and BoPa took us to the Washington County Fair. I knew I was in the right place because there was a cute pink tractor.

We met a gold medalist oinker, but she was doing a lot of sleeping. That's my kind of competition.

Daddy's favorite competition was for "best udders." This kid won:

I spoke to some of the other competitors to keep their spirits high.

The fair must have been expensive because BoMa made me do the wash. So much for the new washer/dryer in our apartment.

As a finale, we relaxed on some rides.

Sweet and Sixteen (Months)

Today I turn sixteen months. I have so many new words and activities and I absolutely LOVE playing in my new room.

My newest pleasure is turning on and off the lights (when mommy and daddy pick me up so I can reach the switch).

You Can Count on Me!

We made our second trip (but who's counting) to visit Daisy et al. in Brooklyn. They had us over for breakfast, but it's not clear whether more food got in our tummies or on our faces.

Later, we took a trip to the park, and I brought Baby. She's counting on me, though, to take care of her, so I made sure she was strapped safely into the stroller.

Daddy keeps saying "this baby goes up to eleven." I don't quite know what he means, but he's wrong, since I only know how to count up to ten.

Take Me Out to the FanFest!

I've been so busy following the Tampa Bay Rays, who are kicking the tushies of my two favorite teams, that I've been slow to report how much fun I had at the All-Star FanFest a few weeks ago.

Daisy drove, while I navigated.

Later on, we shared another ride.

While Oscar hit a home run, Daddy made a great play. (Mommy always said he was quite a catch!)

All in all, we had a (Guinness Book of World Records Biggest Ever Base-) ball.
